If you’re like me, and you’re careful to look through your banking and card statements in detail, you’ll know the pain of having to work out what some mystery charges are. For example, what does USCC IVR mean, and how can you stop the charges from arising?
In this guide, I’ll take you through what’s currently known about USCC IVR as a fee, and what it means for your financial health moving forward.
What is USCC IVR?
USCC IVR most likely seems to be related to US Cellular – meaning if this charge appears, it’s likely a payment for your cellphone contract or related services. There is however no general consensus on what it means.
That said, many people are concerned that it’s a fraudulent charge, and there’s no official source on the matter. If you have an account with US Cellular and you notice this fee, it’s probably a good idea to check your contract or to raise your concerns with them.
Can I stop USCC IVR charges?
If USCC IVR charges appear on your account or your credit card statement, it’s wise to speak directly to your card issuer or bank. They may be able to freeze the charge, reverse recurring costs, and even investigate the charge on the basis of fraud.
This may mean that you have to agree to a new card and PIN issue to help lock down your account.
If you’re a US Cellular customer, you may be able to stop these charges from appearing in future by contacting their customer care team and canceling any ongoing debits.
However, as there’s no official guarantee that USCC IVR appears as a result of US Cellular, contacting your bank or card issuer is by far the best route to take.
Why do I keep getting USCC IVR charges?
If you’re unsure why you keep getting USCC IVR charges, it may be that someone is authorizing regular payments without your knowledge. Therefore, it’s worth making sure you keep your passwords private, and that you reset any security details should you be concerned.
If you’re unsure whether or not it’s charges emanating from your own account, try and run a quick audit of your regular expenses and income. Log into your online banking accounts and over the past few months of charges. Are there any other discrepancies emerging?
I personally feel it’s healthy to look regularly through your accounts in any case – but if USCC IVR appears to be a regular nuisance, be sure to audit your income and outgoings as a priority.
If you have an account with US Cellular but you didn’t authorize the charges that keep appearing on your statements, be sure to contact their care team as a priority. The team may be able to help investigate fraud on your behalf, and prevent the charges from emerging further.
