How to get Free Stocks in the UK
There is currently a lot of competition between UK investment platforms and with investors having a choice of who they invest with, those platforms are happy to offer incentives to entice would be investors to choose their platform.
The most common dangled carrot comes in the form of companies giving away free stocks for signing up and funding your account. Generally this will be from a selection of pre-defined stocks or up to a certain amount.
I’ve looked at and compared a number of investment platforms in the past on PFF so I won’t get into too much detail here. I just want to provide you with a list of my favourite stock trading platforms in the UK which offer a free stock for signing up.
It’s worth remembering that there is nothing to stop you signing up for accounts with all of these platforms to take advantage of the free stocks. You can then spend a bit of time with each and decide which is your preferred platform.

What to consider when signing up for free stocks?
Who doesn’t love free stocks? No one is going to grumble about free money after all. Although it’s important to make sure you consider and fully understand any requirements or conditions before signing up to any platform offering free stocks.
While there’s no harm in signing up for various platforms, getting your free stock, then trying out each platform before deciding which is the most suitable for you. I would advise against simply signing up to all platforms just with the hope of getting a valuable free stock. Investing is a long term game and you want to make sure you find an investing platform that suits your specific requirements, particularly if you’re new to investing.
If you want to read more about investing we have a number of articles covering various investing topics including a number of investment platforms reviews which you can check out here.

Hi Fernando, it varies per platform but Trading 212 is available in a number of EU countries as well as various others worldwide. Freetrade is only available in the UK but will be launching in other European countries later this year. Stake I believe is available in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Brazil. Freedom24 is available throughout Europe and Coinbase is available worldwide I believe. So there should hopefully be a few options for you there! 🙂
